This year in science class we have begun to use Interactive Notebooks. These composition journals begin with a table on contents describing the lessons of the year. Each student takes ownership and pride in the creation of their own exploritory novel that is deeply routed in content, artisit abilities, and "out side of the box" access to curriculum. The use of vocabulay and concept foldables help studetns to avoid the mundain 'flash cards' and create a study material they can utilize both in and out of the classroom. Interat=ctive notebooks allow studetns to be in controll of their own learning, where outlines and bulleted lists leave little to the imagination.
